Drew Swatzell
(PT, DPT)
Drew’s story with Austin PT has come full circle! After first working with us as a PT Tech and later returning as a student clinician, we’re excited to welcome him back to the team as a Doctor of Physical Therapy!
Originally from Mississippi, Drew moved to Huntsville with his family in 2007 and graduated from Huntsville High School. He went on to play five seasons of collegiate football as a linebacker at Delta State University, earning his bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Exercise Science. He later earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Central Arkansas.
Drew brings experience in sports rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, and tactical athlete care. He’s certified in orthopedic dry needling and LSVT BIG, with additional clinical and research experience working with firefighters, law enforcement, and EMS professionals. He’s also presented on physical therapy management for tactical athletes.
What Drew loves most about being a physical therapist is helping people move better, feel better, and make lasting improvements in their lives. We’re proud to have him back at Austin PT, now helping patients as a clinician in the same place where he got his start!
